Emails Uncover Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk I doubt I can make the flight we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing helper".

These messages were published on Wednesday alongside more than 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is withheld. The BBC has been able to establish his involvement by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein discusses arranging a plane from Scotland for the redacted user in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of Trump's closest aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and allegedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his show earlier this year, he stated: "We plan to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released materials suggest Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a aide.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon thanked him: "U r pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

UK Politics Discussed in Messages

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein discussing UK politics in that year.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this morning with Farage, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the embattled British leader at the time, he added: "The guys are attempting to move on. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Ideal- so people see the dedication of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon replied: "I don't see how however the guys over here have no balls" and added "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - somebody has to take charge".

May was finally toppled in May 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of no confidence in late 2018.

A spokesman for Reform UK told the BBC: "Farage has not been in a gathering with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is no evidence that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will vote soon on whether the Department of Justice should release all its records concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with powerful figures was renewed this week after the release of more than 20,000 pages from his estate.

A portion of those mentioned the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years prior to Epstein was initially charged.
